Reflection
Parent-Teacher Meetings were a source of frustration for many. Unclear queue lines, unclear queue times. I wanted to fix this operational bottleneck because managing a physical line exhausts a teacher's energy and cuts directly into the limited time they have for meaningful learning conversations with families.
My solution was a real-time coordination workspace built on a lightweight, serverless framework. It replaces confusion with a transparent, responsive dashboard, giving parents live updates and teachers a clean console.
I built this system through a deliberate, human-centred feedback loop. I began by running simulations with our students to check how the interface behaved on mobile screens. Next, I piloted the tool within a single department to strip out unnecessary clicks, and finally opened it to the entire faculty to intentionally stress-test the code before families ever touched it. Moving the line coordination onto a transparent dashboard cleared the hallways and gave teachers their cognitive breathing room back, reminding me that operations should always serve to protect human relationships.
